EUGENE HAVER

Eugene Haver, 82, resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, died Sunday morning, May 23, 1999. He previously resided at 1606 Viebahn Street, Manitowoc.

He was born in Seymour, Wis., February 17, 1917.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.

The son of the late Ernest and Carrie Wofle Haver, he married Margaret K. Williamson on November 28, 1953 at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death August 20, 1995. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters, Survivors include neices, nephews, along with other relatives and many friends.

He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936. He then became employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding working as a welder on the submarines that were being built. He entered the United States Army and served during World War II. Upon returning to Manitowoc after the war, Gene was employed with Normington Laundry for several years and then later became self-employed operating Haver's Bar located at Franklin and South 14th Street until retiring in 1979. Gene was a volunteer at the Maritime Museum in Manitowoc.

Friends and relatives may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and then on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
