LEROY JOSEPH HEBERT, 91, passed away February 2, 2010 after a courageous battle with Alzheimers. He was born December 13, 1918 in New Iberia, Louisiana. He lived in Port Neches and Houston. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Leroy; parents, Walter and Eva and a brother, J.C. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lavonne; daughter, Pat (Bill) Janacek, sister-in-law, Anne Hebert of Port Neches; step-children, Eddie (Amy) Neeley, Stanley Neeley, LaJeanna (Glen) Pilant; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Leroy attended St. Thomas High School before enlisting in the Navy in 1937, reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He had numerous businesses and was a distinguished custom home builder and served on the board of directors of Meyerland State Bank and successor banks.There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 4, 2010, 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. The interment will take place at Forest Park Westheimer Memorial Mission Mausoleum with military honors.
