Walter Reuter
Birth: Jan. 4, 1906

German Photographer. He left Germany, fleeing from nazism. He moved to Switzerland, later to France and finally to Spain. He produced an important photo-work about Spanish Civil War. With the arrival of Franco's dictatorship, again, he was forced to exile. He went to Mexico where spent his entire career, reflecting powerfully the Mexican culture. He also worked in cinema, in films such as "Danza de los Mixes" (1952), "La brecha" (1952), "Raíces" (1953), "La Guerra Xóchitl" (1966) and "Un Toro me Llama," (1968). He received the Award Ariel de Oro in 1999. He died in Cuernavaca (Mexico). (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
