MAXINE V. HYNEK

Maxine V. Hynek, age 77, of 2350 S. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 20, 2007, at her residence.

She was born on April 14, 1930, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Irene (Shemchak) Wilfer and the late George Wilfer. Maxine attended schools in Manitowoc and Two Rivers. On June 23, 1951, she married Harlan A. Hynek at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on June 23, 2007. Maxine was a receiving clerk at JC Penney Company, and owned Hynek Estate Sales & Service with her husband. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and United Commercial Travelers Council 200.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Kim Hynek; a son-in-law: Edward Braun; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Charles and Lillian Hynek; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Melvin and Violet Hynek; Earl and Madrine Hynek; Vivian and George Paris; Paul Hynek in World War II; and Eugene Hynek; two nephews: Roger Hynek; and Scott Paris; and a niece: Margaret Peters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Dan Felton, with entombment of the cremated remains at Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc, at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
