Orgena "Marge" Kakatsch, age 85, of 951 N. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 12, 2007, at her residence.
Marge was born on Jan. 3, 1922, at Lena, daughter of the late Otto and Ida Zarling Desterheft. She was a 1940 graduate of Gillett High School, and a 1941 graduate of the Business School of Appleton. Marge was employed as a legal secretary for several years in Appleton, the Federal Housing Authority in Sturgeon Bay, and was a legal secretary for Attys. Muchin & Muchin in Manitowoc. Marge was also employed with Dr. Thomas Perry as a secretary and the Manitowoc County Human Services Dept. for several years as an administrative assistant. On Dec. 1, 1945, Marge was married to Lawrence F. Kakatsch in Sturgeon Bay. He preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1994. Marge was a member of First Lutheran Church, Otto-Oas VFW 659 Auxiliary, the Manitowoc Senior Center, Beta Theta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha of Manitowoc, and was also a charter member of the National Secretaries Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother: Arnold Desterheft; one sister: Verona Desterheft.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Marcia Solberg will officiate, with entombment to follow at the Knollwood Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services 11 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc are serving the Kakatsch family.
