Rock Musician. He was the original drummer for the band Iron Maiden (1979-1982) and played on the band's first three albums: Iron Maiden, Killers, and Number of the Beast. He was co-writer of the songs "Gangland", and another song, "Total Eclipse". He left the band in December 1982 due to personal problems. Prior to joining Iron Maiden he was with the band Samson, which also included Bruce Dickinson, who later became the lead singer of Iron Maiden. During the years following his departure from Iron Maiden he stayed in the music business, playing with several other bands. In 1985 he was a member of the short-lived supergroup Gogmagog, which also consisted of original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno, among others. In 2001 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He died at home in his sleep at the age of 56. (bio by: Tom Streetman)
