VERNON MARSICEK

Vernon (Marty) Marsicek, 63, of 16505 Hwy. 10, Reedsville, died Wednesday evening, April 4, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maple Grove, preceded by family rites at 9:30 a.m. at Reedsville Funeral Home. The Rev. David Pleier will officiate and entombment will be in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum.

Mr. Marsicek was born Nov. 9, 1920, in the Town of Casco, son of Beatrice Seeman Marsicek Rousse and the late Louis Marsicek.

He farmed most of his life in the Town of Franklin and also operated Marty’s Sales and service in Reedsville until retirement.

He married Mable Hlinak, My 25, 1946, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills.

Mr. Marsicek was former director of Valley Bank, Reedsville, a former Reedsville School Board member, a member of St. Patrick Holy Name Society and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5798.

Survivors include his wife, Mable, his mother of Two Rivers; 10 sons, Robert and Jayette of New Holstein, Kenneth and Patricia of Kellnersville, Daniel and Kay of Whitelaw, Donald and Debra of Maple Grove, William and Dawn of Reedsville, James and Sandra of Manitowoc, Dennis of Manitowoc, Patrick of Manitowoc and Roger and Thomas at home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, LouAnn and Gene Schneider of Valders, Joyce and John Klein of Manitowoc and Lynn at home; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Arthur Schanilec of Kewaunee, Arlene Isaacson of Green Bay and Agnes and Tony Dolata of Berlin and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Friday until the time of services on Saturday. The Knights of Columbus Council No. 5798 will have a service at 8 p.m. A parish vigil service will be led by Father Pleier at 8:15 p.m. followed at 8:30 p.m. by The St. Patrick holy Name Society Rosary.
