From Der Nord Westen, 26 Feb. 1903:
Ralph Pederson, a farmer in Town Gibson, was in Manitowoc on business on Mon.
He started home in the afternoon, and as he was traveling along the Neshoto
road about 4 miles from Manitowoc, his horses shied and ran off, overturning
the heavy wagon on top of him. It was later found that 3 ribs were broken and
2 pierced his lungs so that he died quickly. The body was taken to Manitowoc
and the coroner's jury returned a verdict of accidental death. Pederson was a
well-to-do man, age 56, who leaves a wife and 9 children.
