She was born in Kingsport and had been a resident of the Mount Carmel, Church Hill area most of her life. Donna graduated from Volunteer High School in 1983. She was a sales office manager at General Shale and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and recently was attending Mountain View Baptist Church.
Donna was a loving wife, mother and daughter, had an open heart, always had a smile on her face and she loved to dance.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Kendrick; paternal grandparents, L.W. and Verda Franklin Kendrick; and sister-in-law, Paula Kendrick.
She is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Rick Vance of the home; daughters, Lindsey Danielle Vance and Savannah Leigh Vance, both of the home; mother, Wanda Kendrick of Kingsport; brothers, Jeff Kendrick of Mount Carmel and Doug Kendrick of Kingsport; several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; faithful friend, Bodie; and a host of other friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill, 1115 Highway 11-W, Church Hill. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Ronnie Trent officiating. Music will be provided by Mountain View Baptist Church. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Midway, Va. Family and friends are asked to meet at Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill at 11 a.m. to go to the cemetery in a procession.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
