This is our oldest known Yokey. We need family help to fill in their lives please!

Thank you cousin RAP for going back out to this family cemetery and rephotographing his headstone so that we could ld read it. The headstone lists his wife, Mary, on the other side of the stone.

Cindi Trainor says this stands for:
"Company H 2nd NY H Army
a unit in the Civil War." - "Co H 2 N.Y.H.A."

Dec 2023 update, from family scholar, Tom DeNardo: "The above information is incorrect. See the attached photo. It stands for:
" New York Heavy Atillery" "

Philip Yokey, Sr.
Birth: 1801, France/Prussia
Death: 1884, Burnside, Lapeer, Michigan, USA
(Last census or record found for him.)
(Thank you Cynthia Trainor for filling in his dates and hosting Yokey family reunions in Michigan:
TrainorReunion at aol.com.)

We believe he had one wife and three children. The reason why is that the mother's name was listed as "Margaret Eckhardt" on son Philip's Death Record. The name "Mary" is on the headstone, and she was born in Prussia, 12 Apr 1816. So, we believe that she was Margaret Mary Eckhardt Yokey.

The 1880 census record shows "Mary", much younger, married to Phillip. There are no other records for a "Margaret Eckhardt Yokey"--birth/marriage/death records to show "Margaret's" existence, other than her full name listed on son Phillip's Death Certificate! Cindy Trainor combined the two women; she is waiting for more records to come in. She has not completed theis line. I disagree.
