ARVIN E. KRASSIN, age 83 of Waseca died on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on July 27, 1931 in Waseca County, Minnesota, he was the son of John and Elsie (Priebe) Krassin. Arvin attended school in rural Waseca County and served in the US Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1954. He married Barbara Gustafson on November 29, 1958 in Waseca. He worked at Rose’s Service Garage and then farmed with his father in St. Mary’s Township, Waseca County. He later worked at Jerome’s Turkey Farms near Claremont until retiring. He enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards, fishing, hunting, reading and traveling. Arvin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church – Wilton in Waseca County.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Waseca and one daughter, Kathy (David) Matz of Waseca. He is also survived by two sisters, Janice (Kenneth) Stendel of Owatonna and Shirley (Vic) Bailey of Spring, TX; sister-in-law, Margaret Krassin of Waseca; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chris; and one brother, Kenneth.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church – Wilton with Rev. Larry Sipe officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. Visitation will be held on Thursday, one hour before services at the church.
