Mrs. Sarah A. Macauley passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Edward Popp, east of Perry Center, Wednesday evening, March the 17th, aged 78 years.
Sarah Althea Nichols was born in the town of Attica in 1848, and was married to Joseph Macauley in 1873. They had lived in Perry and vicinity for the past 25 years.
She is survived by seven children, William of Sears, N.Y., George of Rock Creek, Ohio, Henry of Oakfield, and Miss Isabel of Batavia, Mrs. Carl Sheridan of Salamanca, Mrs Popp and Miss Nina of Perry. There are 42 grand children and several great grandchildren.
Besides these there are five sisters of the deceased: Mrs. Ed. Warren of Corning, Mrs. Frank Mallison of Cuba, Miss Clorrisa Nichols of Warsaw, Mrs. May Joslyn of Perry and Mrs. Wm. Smith of Wyoming.
The funeral was held from the Popp home. Burial in the Leicester cemetery.
