He was born in Massena on March 17, 1859 the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roshia. He married twice, his first wife being the former Miss Obeline Sawyer who died in 1895. His second wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Arno, died in 1918.
He was a farmer until coming to Winthrop in the late thirties to live with his daughters, Mrs. Ida Prashaw and Mrs. Josephine Currier.
Survivors were eight daughters, Mrs. Ida Prashaw; Mrs. Josephine Currier; Mrs. Sophia Butler, Mrs. Betty King, Mrs. Rose Wolfe; Mrs. Agnes Esseltine; Mrs. Mary Zappia (Bergeron), and Mrs. Anna Henderson; a son, Louis Roshia; a brother, Paul Roshia; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
