Carl Gilbert, 71, of 911 South 24th street, retired ship yard worker, died this noon at the Holy Family hospital. He had been ill two months.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Pfeffer funeral home. Burial will be in the Gjerpen cemetery.
Mr. Gilbert was born in Cato in 1870 and when a young man came to Manitowoc.
He secured work at the shipyards where he was employed more than 25 years. He retired 12 years ago.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Claude Allie of this city; son, Ralph, of this city; and four grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday noon until the hour of the services Wednesday.
