Samuel Deveaux was the son of John and Eunice (Blake) De Voe. He was the founder of Deveaux College, Niagara Falls, New York. Maria (Woodruff) Deveaux was his 1st wife. They were married about 1813. Sarah (Woodruff) McCulloch Deveaux was his 2nd wife. She was the sister of Maria. Sarah died January 26, 1864.
