ALMER HALVERSON

Almer L. Halverson, 84, of Rt. 1, Cato, died Sunday at Manitowoc County Hospital. Death was attributed to heart disease.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Robert Onkka will officiate and burial will be in Gjerpen Cemetery.

Mr. Halverson was born July 18, 1881, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aslak Hlaverson.

A farmer, he married Elma Thompson May 18, 1916, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Valders.

He had been a member of the Madson School Board and sexton and trustee of the former Gjerpen Church. He always farmed on Rt. 1, Cato.

Surviving are a son, Herman, on the home farm, three daughters, Mrs. Henry A. (Elda) Eberhardt of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, Mrs. Harry (Elaine) Eberhardt of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Kenneth (Florence) Busse of Rt. 1, Kiel, and 10 grandchildren.

His wife died Jan 4, 1937, and a daughter, brother and sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Christianson Funeral Home St. Nazianz, after 3 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until time of service.
