~OBITUARY~
Captain James Madison Wilson, 81 years old, veteran of the Civil War and father of J. T. Wilson, editor of the Cynthiana Log Cabin, died at his home at Falmouth this morning at 6 o'clock of paralysis. He was stricken at 3 o'clock.
Captain Wilson was an invalid, having been paralyzed three years ago. He was born in Pendleton County and was the son of the late Dr. John M. Wilson and Zerelda Snell Wilson. In early manhood he entered the mercantile business in Williamstown and later went to Falmouth, where he was the first mayor elected under the new state constitution.
He was postmaster at Falmouth for fifteen years, resigning in 1913 in the middle of his fourth term on account of his advanced age. He was married April 26, 1866 to Miss Ella Kerr of Fayette County, a sister of Mrs. B. T. Riggs of this city.
Captain Wilson is survived by his wife and five children, J. T. Wilson of this city, Ralph Wilson of Frankfort, Misses Ella and Mary Wilson and Dr. J. E. Wilson of Falmouth. His brothers are Ed Wilson of Falmouth and Newt Wilson of Florida.
