LeRoy J. Einberger, age 82, of 1450 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 1996 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born July 30, 1913 in Clarks Mills, son of the late John and Ida Dietrich Einberger. LeRoy was a graduate of the Wisconsin State School for the Deaf in Delavan, Wisconsin, with the class of 1934. He was the captain of the football and basketball teams and was also a member of the school’s baseball team.

He married the former Margaret Mansavage August 22, 1941 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death July 28, 1971. He then married the former Ellen Gorleski October 14, 1972 in Green Bay. She preceded him in death November 30, 1987. LeRoy was employed with Imperial Eastman Company for 30 years until his retirement in 1979. He was the past president of the Manitowoc and Green Bay Deaf Clubs.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia O’Connell, Eagan, Minn., Kathleen and Dennis Zutz, Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Greta, Lexee, and Toby Zutz; one sister, Irene Meyer, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert and a sister, Marion Barr.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, 1996 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Anthony Wieczorek O. Praem with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Clarks Mills. Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Rev. Anthony Wieczorek O. Praem.
