Eleanore C. Gosz, age 75, of 143 Lincoln St., Valders, died Thursday morning, March 27, 1997, at the Manitowoc Health Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, 1997, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clark Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. John Conrad with burial to follow in St. Mary Church Cemetery.
She was born February 22, 1922, in Brown County, Wis, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Shimek. On November 22, 1939, she married Daniel P. Gosz in Manitowoc County. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1973. Eleanor was employed with the Leverenz Shoe Co. of Valders for 29 years until her retirement in 1984.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law Daniel and Judy Gosz Jr., Valders, Ronald and Debbie Gosz, Manitowoc, John Gosz, Arlington, Texas; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Audrey and Dale Strasburg, Jefferson, Donna and Mike Mowrer, Manitowoc, Judy and Donald Evenson, Valders, Nancy Hammersley, Manitowoc, Kayleen and Blake Halderson, Valders, Marilou and Bob Mueller, Valders; 29 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roland Shimek, Manitowoc; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vivian and Darwin Nelson, Demark, Marcella Mellen, New Franken, three brothers-in-law, Edward Gosz Jr., Appleton, Clarence Gosz, Appleton, Robert Gosz, Brillion; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dorrance Long, New Albany, Ind., Mrs. Earl Nienhaus, Green Leaf, Mrs. Robert DeValk, Anderson Lake, Mrs. Kenneth Johnson, Northbrook, Ill.’ A special cousin, Vang Pearson, South Dakota. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, one great grandson, two brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
Friends may call at the Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, Sunday evening from 4-9 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. by Father John Conrad. Friends may call Monday morning at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
