Charles K. McCulley, 72, of Valders, died Sunday afternoon at home following a heart attack. Funeral services will be Tuesday at Berge Funeral Home, Valders, and at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Milles. The Rev. Henry Arens will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. McCulley was born at Antigo, Wis., June 17, 1887, son of the late John and Catherine Conway McCulley. Mr. McCulley farmed in the Town of Cato until 1944 when he moved to Valders where he was employed by Nestles Co. until retiring in 1955. He married Margaret Brennan Jan. 26, 1910, and the couple observed the golden anniversary of the wedding last month. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Surviving are his wife, three sons, William of Manitowoc, Charles of Grimms and Bernard of Rt. 2, Reedsville; six daughters, Mrs. John Ryan of Cass City, Mich., Mrs. Alvin Wallander and Mrs. Harold Pritzl of Cato, Mrs. Earle Sylva of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. William Gerl of Sturgeon Bay and Mrs. Elton Ellestad of Valders; two sisters, Miss Mary McCulley of Los Angeles and Mrs. George Schuh of Clarks Mills; 42 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
