Catherine A. Moore, age 91, of 136 McKinley St., Valders, died Monday morning, Nov. 5, 2001, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. John Conrad with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Catherine was born April 2, 1910, in the town of Browning, Taylor County, Wis., daughter of the late Andrew and Emma Strobach Mann. She attended Whittlesey Public Schools. Catherine came to Valders at the age of 17 in 1927. On Oct. 23, 1928, she married Herbert Alfson. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1959. She then married John D. Moore on Oct. 14, 1961, at Clarks Mills. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1988. Catherine was employed at Levernz Shoes for 16 years. She was a member of the Valders Senior Citizens, Valders, American Legion Auxiliary for more than 50 years and St. Mary Marion Council.

Survivors include her children and spouses, Ray and Delores Alfson, Sturgeon Bay, Dennis and Cathy Alfson, Manitowoc, Caroline Alfson, Valders, David and Diann Moore, Oshkosh, Donald and Sherrill Riebe, Manitowoc, Dennis and Rogene Moore, Manitowoc, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Moore, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John Mann, Rib Lake; two sisters, Pauline Thums, Rib Lake and Theresa and Arthur Damrau, Rib Lake; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Herbert Vogel, Valders, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Moore, Altoona, Wis., Florence Mann, Rib Lake, Mary Moore and Johanna Gamily, Wyo., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive, She was preceded in death by two sons, Howard Alfson and Lawrence (Hubby) Alfson; two granddaughters, Penny Alfson and Sharon Lueloff; two brothers Joseph and Andrew Mann; one sister, Margaret Hanna; eight sisters-in-law and six brothers-in-law.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Christianson & Deja Funeral Home, Valders, on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and also at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.

Kate enjoyed dartball, gardening, homemaking and all sports, especially the Green Bay Packers.

Kate would also like to thank all who took her to church after John's death; for that "many, many thanks."

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary Catholic School of Clarks Mills, or The Heart Fund.
