Louis M. Pankratz, 81, former Valders and Manitowoc resident, died Sunday evening at Maplecrest Home, Whitelaw, where he had been a patient six weeks.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Alfred Pritzl will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery,Clarks Mills, Manitowoc County, WI.
Mr. Pankratz was born Oct. 13, 1882, at Clarks Mills, son of the late Joseph and Theresa Koerner Pankratz.
He married Angeline Christel at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz Aug. 25, 1908, and the couple resided at Valders until coming to Manitowoc in July of 1963.
At Manitowoc they lived at 1301 S. Eighth St. Before retiring six years ago, Mr. Pankratz had been employed more than 30 years as a Raleigh route salesman. Mr. and Mrs. Pankratz observed the golden anniversy of their wedding five years ago. He had been a member of Holy Name Society of St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, and United Commercial Travelers.
Surviving are his wife, six sons, Ralph of Winona, Minn., Donald Pankratz, Robert Pankratz and James Pankratz of Manitowoc, Leroy Pankratz of Youngstown, Ohio, and Lawrence Pankratz; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Helen) Kool of Milwaukee and Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Miller and Mrs. Joseph (Florence) Krueger of Manitowoc; four brothers, Joseph of Manitowoc, Max of Valders, Bernard of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, and Hugo of Appleton; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Christel of Valders, Mrs. Mayme Rolland of Clarks Mills and Mrs. George Reuther of Detroit; 39 grand-children and 20 great grandchildren.
A son, Raymond, died Dec. 22, 1963, and a brother also preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:15 o'clock this Monday evening by members of the Holy Name Society and Daughters of Isabella.
