The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Clarks Mills. Rev. John Conrad will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clarks Mills. Military graveside services will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 6179.
He was born May 18, 1918, in the township of Cato, son of the late Frank and Clara Zipperer Riederer. He grew up in the township of Cato, attending St. Mary’s Grade School at Clarks Mills. He was a Farmer most of his life, also working for the town of Cato, retiring in 1974, due to health problems. He serviced during World War II, serving overseas in the Philippines.
He married Marcella M. Stelzer, January 18, 1947, at St. Patrick’s Catholic church, Maple Grove, Wis. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, V.F.W, Kubale-O’Connell Post 6179 of Cato, Wis., the American Legion Thompson-Burkard Post No. 28 of Valders, Wis., and a charter member of Lake to Lake Dairy Cooperative. He was also active in Senior Citizens of Manitowoc County.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Elaine Riederer of rural Cato, Gregory and Suzanne Riederer of rural Cato, Mark and Colleen Riederer of rural Cato, 11 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Sara, Charles Jr., Carl, April, Katrina, Josephone, Greg Jr., Katie and Scott; a brother and sister-in-law, Florian and Beverly Riederer of Fond du Lac, Wis., seven sisters and six brothers-in-law, Germaine and Edwin Lau of Collins, Marion and Lester Bartz of Newton, Jeanette Novak of Reedsville, Wis.,Marge and Frank Kopidlansky of Taus, Ester and Joseph Krejcarek of Janesville, Wis., Lydia and Edward Paul of Manitowoc Rapids, Lou and Raymond Zaruba of Maribel, Wis.; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Verna Stelzer of Taus and Roman and Dorothy Stelzer of Taus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl, five brothers and sisters.
