Mr. Ed Riederer, 78, of Route 1, Cato, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. The Rev. John Conrad will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Riederer was born May 9, 1906, in the Town of Cato, Manitowoc County, son of the late Blasius and Mary Pritzl Riederer. He married Irene C. Jaworski, July 3, 1935, at Manitowoc. Mr. Riederer was Road Commissioner for the Town of Cato and also was employed by Manitowoc County Highway Department until his retirement in 1971. He was a 50 year member of the St. Mary Holy Name Society, a member of Manitowoc Senior Citizens and a member of Manitowoc County Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerome Vogel of Route 1, Cato; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bernard and Ann Riederer of Manitowoc; Robert Riederer of Whitelaw and August and Dorothy Riederer of Manitowoc; a sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Harold Lemberger of Whitelaw; three grandchildren, Debbie Arner, Jeff Vogel and Denise Vogel.
Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Clarks Mills, 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Thursday afternoon and from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of services. A prayer service will be 8 o'clock this Thursday evening at the church. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
