Edward J. Staudinger, 66, former Town of Cato farmer who recently moved to Whitelaw, died early Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic church, Clarks Mills, the Rev. Michael Fetko officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born May 8, 1891, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Staudinger and lived all of his life on the homestead farm until he retired two months ago and moved to Whitelaw. On May 26, 1913, he married the former Bertha Riederer of the Town of Cato.
Survivors include his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Adolph Bergel, Mrs. Edgar Glaeser and Mrs. Joseph Rhode of Whitelaw, Mrs. James Stredel of Branch and Mrs. Howard Berkholz of Collins; three sons, Leonard of Rt. 5, Cato, Edward Jr. of Rt??, Valders and Paul of Rt. 2, Reedsville; three brothers, John and Joseph of Manitowoc and Charles of Valders; six sisters, Mrs. Sophie Schmidt and Mrs. William Boeckmann of Manitowoc, Mrs. Isadore Belonger of Two Rivers, Mrs. Joseph Katchan of Sheboygan, Mrs. Joseph Rathsack of Appleton and Mrs. Edward Schmelter of DePere, 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday at the Berge Funeral Home, Valders, where the Holy Name Society will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m. and the parish Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
