Elaine A. Thone, age 65, of 14002 Thone Lane, Cato, died Friday morning, Feb. 20, 2004, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. James Jugenheimer with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She was born May 10, 1938 in Manitowoc daughter of Joseph and Clara Schamburek Franz Sr. Elaine was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1956. On Nov. 5, 1960, she married Donald Thone at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Elaine was a member of the Christian Women of St. Mary Catholic church, Clarks Mills. She volunteered her time reading with the children at St. Mary's School.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Thone, Cato; three daughters and sons-in-law: Pam and Dave Samsa, Suamico; Karen and Christopher Heili, Howards Grove; JoAnne and Patrick Dvorachek, Manitowoc; two sons: Steve Thone and Frank Thone, both of Cato; seven grandchildren: Adam and Aimee Heili, Austin and Taylor Samsa, Eric, Tyler and Bryce Dvorachek; her parents, Joseph and Clara Franz Sr., Manitowoc; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Joseph and Ruth Franz, Manitowoc; Eugene Franz, Manitowoc; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bertha Kulnick, Manitowoc; Raymond and Lorraine Thone, New Holstein; Audrey and Donald Leicht, Manitowoc; Margaret Wisnowski, Sun Prairie; Kenneth and Mary Ann Thone, New Holstein; and Marlene and Leonard Kohlmann, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Christianson & Deja Funeral Home, Valders from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 and Tuesday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The family would like to thank Dr. Barylak and his staff, the nurses at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, the Visiting Nurse Association, parishioners at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, the Rev. James Jugenheimer, Deacon Tom Koch and parishioners at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, the Rev. Donald Staude, Martin Van Lishout, friends and neighbors for their compassionate care given to Elaine and her family.
The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home, Valders is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
