Mabel R. Tienor, age 89, of 4705 W. Whitetail Court, Manitowoc, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, Nov. 3, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Mabel was born April 3, 1918, in Alaska, Wis., daughter of the late Henry and Barbara (Stoller) Hunsader. After high school, she attended Manitowoc County Normal School. On July 20, 1946, she married Leonard J. Tienor at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1997.
Mabel spent all of her married life in Clarks Mills. She was a member of the Christian Mothers at St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Cato Homemakers Club. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, homemaking, farming, playing the organ, volunteering at St. Mary's, Clarks Mills elementary school, and donating gladiolas to St. Mary Catholic Church, which she did for many years. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Lawrence and Susan Tienor, Eau Claire; John Tienor, Valders; Thomas and Jean Tienor, Reedsville; three daughters and sons-in-law: Margaret and Fred Gritzenbach, Bradenton, Fla.; Carol and Thomas Steinberg, Manitowoc; Helen and Gregory Satori, Manitowoc; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Jim and Connie Hunsader; Paul and Janice Hunsader; Joyce Hunsader, all of Bradenton, Fla.; five sisters and four brothers-in-law: Madonna and Clarence Shimon, Manitowoc; Dorothy and Florian Zik, Two Creeks; Jeanne Lewis, Elkorn, Wis.; Ruth and Kenneth Holsen, Calif.; Lenore and Charles Christel, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Emil & Florence Tienor, Brillion; Victor Koerner, Manitowoc; Gladys Tienor, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Leonard; two daughters: Ruth and Pauline; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Mark and Margaret Hunsader and Robert Hunsader.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Zimmerman. Burial will follow at St. Mary Church Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Christianson & Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Valders, from 4 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7 p.m.
Visitation will continue at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.
The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center,
Valders, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
