OSCAR HALVERSON

Oscar Halverson, 73, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital where he had been hospitalized two weeks.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, the Rev. Robert Onkka officiating. Burial will be in Gjerpen Church Cemetery.

Mr. Halverson was born March 8, 1891, at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Christopher and Dora Larson Halverson.

He farmed in the Town of Cato area, and was a carpenter-contractor. He served as trustee and treasurer and in other offices of Gjerpen church. He was a former school board member of Madison School.

He married Hilda Pederson Oct. 9, 1915 at Gjerpen.

Survivors are the wife, two sons, Lester of Rt. 1, Cato, and Edwin of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Kennard (Doris) Erickson of Rt. 1, Valders, and Mrs. Gary (Edna) Lutze of Rt. 1, Newton; a brother, Stanley of Oshkosh; a sister, Mrs. Henrietta Smith of Manitowoc and 13 grandchildren.

A son, sister and five brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Farley Funeral Home, Valders, this Monday evening until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and then at the church. Those desiring may contribute to Faith Lutheran Church memorial fund.
