OLD RESIDENT OF CATO DIES

Mrs. O.P. Hanson, 84, Dies Today at Son's Home in Cato

Mrs. O.P. Hanson, 84, pioneer resident of Cato, died today at the farm of her son.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Julia Maria Johnson, was born in Milwaukee in 1851, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Johnson. Her parents moved to Rapids when she was a child.

She was married there in 1874 to O. P. Hanson and they resided in this city for several years before moving to a farm in Cato. Mr. Hanson died 24 years ago.

The deceased later made her home in Manitowoc for several years.

She was taken ill while visiting at the home of her son Albert Hanson in Cato.

Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Ladies Aid society of the Gjerpen church.

Survivors are three daughters, Isabelle, Cato, Mrs. Anton Dedering, Sheboygan, and Mrs. William Lampiris, Milwaukee; three sons, Oscar, Rapids, Albert, Cato, and Alvin, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Isabelle M. Johnson, city; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Wattawa, Urbnek and Schlei funeral home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. from the Gjerpen Lutheran church. The body may be viewed from Tuesday noon on at the funeral home.
