Mrs. Nell Dykstra, 87, of Orange City, died Friday, Jan. 27, 1995, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City with the Rev. Willis Vander Kooi officiating. Burial was held at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Mrs. Dykstra was born April 28, 1907, in Orange City, the daughter of Mike and Mary (Groen) Westra. She was raised at Orange City and graduated from the Orange City High
School in 1925. She attended Sheldon Teachers College and taught in country schools.

On Jan. 18, 1935, she married Lester A. Dykstra at Slayton, MN.

The couple made their home in Orange City where she was a sales clerk in several retail stores. Mr. Dykstra died in 1970 in Orange City.

After a short stay at Valley Manor in Rock Valley, she became a resident of the Heritage House in Orange City in February 1992.

Mrs. Dykstra was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City.

Survivors include a son, Fred and his wife, Betty of Orange City.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jennie Westra and three brothers, Henry, John and Mike Westra.
