He was the son of Charles Douglas "Duffy" Parkhurst Sr. and Agnes Delorey.
His first wife was Verna Steele, the daughter of Harry (yellow bird) Steele & Jennie Carlow. They divorced and he went on to marry my Aunt Alice N. Lee Parkhurst Stomley in November 1941 in Rushville Nebraska.
He was father to three children: Constance Marie Parkhurst Anderson, John Parkhurst (linked above), & Beverly June Parkhurst Monday.
He was an Oneida Indian with his roots in Red Lake MN. and the Oneida Reservation WI.
Family lore says he fell off of a barstool dead one night while out at a bar he frequented.

Charles Parkhurst, a resident of Beaverhead County since 1950, died Sunday evening at Barrett Hospital following a short illness. He was 60 years of age at the time of death.
Mr Parkhurst was born March 24, 1913 at Fort Mojave, Ariz.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post No. 20 and was employed on area ranches during his residence in the state.
Survivors include two daughters and a son who live outside Montana.
Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at the Mountain View Cemetery under direction of the American Legion Post No. 20.
