He professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist Church at Concord in August 1874 where he remained a faithful member until his death. He was one of best men I ever knew. He was a faithful husband, and kind tender father, neighbor and a citizen, a loyal church member. He always met every problem of life with a smile. He had as many friends as any man I Rankin County. To know him was to love him. He died as he lived in the faith. He was buried on the Concord Cemetery after the services by the writer, his pastor, and Rev. H. W. Bradshaw.
May the Lord comfort his companion, children and grandchildren until we all met again.
