She was born July 11, 1930 in Wendell, Idaho to Raymond and Olive Roholt. Margene was raised on the farm in Idaho, until she married her husband and began traveling the world with him. They settled together in Portland and Troutdale in January 1987. Margene worked as a nurse's aide for many years. On June 8, 1951 she married Lloyd Seltzer in Ogden, Utah. They were later sealed at the LDS temple in Hawaii. Margene was a devoted wife and mother, her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. She always kept the family fed, and the house clean. She would give compliments freely, and always put others first. She enjoyed travel, Hershey's candy bars, and detective TV shows, where she always knew who the criminal was before the detective.
Margene was preceded in death by her parents, brother, six sisters, and her twin, Margy Castellano. She is survived and missed by her husband, Lloyd Seltzer; sons Hal, Jeff, and Bow Seltzer; daughter Celia Gruwell, as well as nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Cherry Park Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 11:00AM. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
