He was a portrait painter born in Heath, Mass, Feb 24, 1824 and died in Flatbush N. York, Mar 11, 1884 having removed there in 1882 from Brooklyn N.Y.

He was Deacon of South Congregational Church, Brooklyn, elected for two terms of three years each. Was Member of Council of Brooklyn Art Association several years, travelled extensively in Europe in 1872, in Paris painting portraits of several distinguished people. Among his subjects were
