On Nov. 16th occurred the death of Mrs. Ophelia Young O'Neil widow of the late Senator William O'Neil of St. Regis Fails. Ophelia Young was born at Pottersville, Warren co, N.Y. July 26 1853 the daughter o the late James H. and Caroline
Egberston Young. she spent her early life at Pottersville, Bleeker and Colton, N.Y coming to St. Regis Falls in 1866. Her father became the superintendent of S B Spaulding and Son tannery. November 1892 she married William O'Neil who died May 5 1909. Five children were born of this union, Mrs Edith Macdonald of Binghamton NY the late H Edward O'Neil if St Regis Falls, Mrs Chester Austin of Johnston NY, Mrs Edwin SYkes of Canton, and Arthur O'Neil of Ogdensburg, and two brothers, Charles H. Young of Malone and Frank S. Young of St Regis Falls. Her passing will cause sorry to many friends in this North Country. Her funeral was held at Canton Saturday. Burial was at St. Regis in Forest cemetery.
