Marie Stastny Dennis, 95, of Crete passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013.

She was born on February 10, 1918 in rural Jefferson County to Charles and Bessie (Borecky) Stastny.

Marie graduated from Crete High School in 1935. She married C. Wilbur Dennis in 1959 in District Heights, Maryland.

Marie retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1978 after 30 years of employment, and Wilbur retired in 1977 after 38 years in the FBI.

Returning to Crete the couple became involved in the Crete Grace United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Clare; husband; sisters, Marvel Lockwood and Irene Cawley; brothers, Charles, Norman, and Sam Stastny; stepbrother, Frank Kasparek.

She is survived by stepbrother, Kenneth and Marilyn Kasparek, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Leona Stastny, Crete; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Cremation, no visitation. Private graveside services at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to Crete Grace United Methodist Church, Crete.
