MARION -- Harry R. King, 88, Marion, died at 8:58 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Morning View Nursing Home.

Born March 11, 1917, in Point Pleasant, W.Va., he was the son of the late James L. and Katherine (VanSickle) King.

On April 15, 1938, in Gallipolis, he married Catherine R. (Reynolds) King; she died Aug. 19, 1998, in Marion.

He was a meat cutter for Town & Country IGA for 40 years. He performed on the Majestic Show Boat from 1938-1940, worked for Ordnance T & T Plant in Point Pleasant, W.Va. (1942-1946) at the Marietta Shipyard. He was known by family and friends as a kind and caring man his entire life.

He is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Ellis) Hudson of Prospect; two grandchildren, Diana (John) Carr of Prospect, Linda Francisco of Lubbock, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Rodney Francisco, Nicole Francisco, Timothy Carr and Matthew Carr. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Marion Cemetery with Chaplain Daniel Kiger officiating. Friends may call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home.
