Appendicitis Ends Young Girl's Life.

Following an operation for appendicitis, Miss Madeline Dambacher, 18 years of age, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dambacher of Stockton, died at San Jose at 7 o'clock Thursday morning. The young lady, who was born in Sonora, was attending Notre Dame Convent when taken down with the disease in such a violent form that an immediate operation became imperative.

The dead girl had spent most of her life in Sonora with her grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Steinmetz, and the funeral will be held from the latter's residence on Holden Street today (Saturday) at 9:45 o'clock.

Mass will be said in St. Patrick's church, after which the cortege will proceed to the Odd Fellow's cemetery, where the interment will be made.

The body was shipped to Sonora Friday.

Miss Dambacher was the idol of her grandmother, her parents and brothers and sisters, as well as other relatives and large numbers of friends. She was a splendid girl in every sense of the word, and no eulogy could be said over her that she was not deserving of.
