She was the widow of the late Gerald Ruthledge ''G.R.'' Brooks and the daughter of the late Nathan Hiram Bellamy and the late Belle Marlowe Bellamy. She was a graduate of Loris High School and attended Wingate College. Prior to her illness she was an active member of the Camp Swamp United Methodist Church and the Ladies Missionary Society. Mrs. Mary Belle was a southern lady who enriched the lives of all those she touched. Survivors include three sons, three daughters, one brother, five grandsons, and five granddaughters, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brooks was predeceased by four brothers: Capt. Glenn G. Bellamy, Joe D. Bellamy, Nathan Hubert ''N.H''. Bellamy, and Thomas L. Bellamy; and one predeceased grandchild: Markvan Bellamy Brooks.
