Benjamin Coplin, born in Rockingham County March 28th 1752 and settled in Harrison County 1770 ,enlisted in Harrison County and serve 2 years as a private under Captains William Lowther, Jackson, and Carpenter and saw frontier service at Nutter's Fort, Powers Fort and forts on Simpson and Elk creeks. He applied for pension and Harrison county, June 18th 1833, and certificate was issued, September 16th of same year
