Mrs. Fedis Stanzel, 83, of 1814 South Ninth St., Manitowoc, died late Thursday afternoon at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Henry Letz will officiate and burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek.

She was born Fedis Bonk in 1871 in Newton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bonk. In 1887 she was married to Alex Stanzel and they located on a farm in Kossuth near Francis Creek. Fifteen years ago they retired and moved to Manitowoc to reside with a daughter, Mrs. Edward Rosinsky. Mrs. Stanzel's husband died in 1950. She was a member of the St. Theresa Society.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Frank Sladky of Shoto, Mrs. Ernest C. Lange of Los Angeles, Mrs. Thomas Fagan, Mrs. Bernard Weina and Mrs. Edward Rosinsky of Manitowoc and Mrs. Max Dempsky of Racine; three sons, Edward and Sylvester of Manitowoc and Emil of Rochester, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kowalski and Mrs. John Sievert of Two Rivers and Mrs. Anton Brusky of Kewaunee; 27 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday by the St. Theresa Society.
