Stephen H. Jackson, 69, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his residence.

He was born October 2, 1941, a son of the late Dean T. and Grace Mayfield Jackson.

He was a 1960 graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended the Greenbrier Military Institute, Marshall University, and West Virginia Wesleyan. He played football at both the high school and the college levels.

Steve was a well known professional wildlife artist. His art work is displayed at the U.S. Department of the Interior, the West Virginia State Capital Building, the Department of Natural Resources building, and various West Virginia State police offices throughout the state.

Steve did the first W.Va. Turkey stamp. He was a former Parkersburg City Fireman, who retired as a lieutenant after 20 years of service.

Steve is survived by two sons; Steve T. Jackson of Vienna, W.Va. and Robert H. Jackson (Kim), of Washougal, Washington; two brothers; Thomas A. Jackson of Columbia, South Carolina and Rodney M. Jackson of Bradenton, Florida; five grandchildren, Christopher (Erica) Jackson, and Jeffrey, Meghan, McKenna, and Samantha Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Jake and Brylee Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Suzie Lincicome Jackson, and two brothers, Jon, and J. Michael Jackson.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Reverend William Dunfee officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church at 708 54th Street, Vienna, W.Va. 26150.
