SPRINGFIELD - Ernestine Boyd, 58, of Springfield died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at her sister's home.

She was born Feb. 2, 1947, in Oxford, Miss., the daughter of Willie Sr. and Alenar Smith Boyd. A son, Luke Boyd, preceded her in death.

She graduated from Morgan City (Miss.) High School and an upholstery school in Greenville, N.C. She retired as a housekeeper from Roosevelt Square and Springfield Terrace Nursing Homes. She was a former member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors: two sisters, Mae F. (husband, Archie) Milin and Laura Ousley, both of Springfield; brother, Leon Boyd (companion, Felicia Williams) of Springfield; an aunt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services: noon Thursday, New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. D.L. Allison officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.

James D. Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
