Retired Farmer
Charlie Franklin Thomas, 93, retired farmer of 24 West Devonshire Street, died at 5:30 a.m. yesterday at his home. He had been critically ill for four days.
Mr. Thomas was born on April 17, 1857, son of William and Margaret Hayworth Thomas of Forsyth County. On May 16, 1880, he was married to Miss Sarah Bailey, who died June 28, 1944.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. L. C. Hobson, Mrs. G. W. Stonestreet, Mrs. H. C. Lindley and Miss Claude Thomas of Winston-Salem; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
