Virginia Ruth Watson Adkins, age 78, of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away on May 2, 2013 at Highlands Medical Center.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2:00pm at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.

Mrs. Adkins is survived by her son – Mark Adkins of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; granddaughters – Lauren (Jason) Adkins Ray of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Bethany (Jeff) Adkins Voyt of Chicago, Illinois, Wendy (Joshua) Adkins Haynes and Emily Adkins both of Scottsboro; grandsons – Alan Adkins and Eric (Kayla) Adkins both of Scottsboro; great-grandchildren – Brylin Adkins of Huntsville, Brody Ray &John Tucker Ray both of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Dawson Rice and Ansley Rice both of Scottsboro; sisters – Lujean Bishop of McDonough, Georgia, Joyce (Kenneth) Griffith of Dutton, Bettye Watson of Owens Cross Roads and Theresa (Clyde) Steele of Hollywood. She was preceded in death by husband – Lewis Adkins; sons – Michael Adkins and Randall Adkins; parents – Thad & Pauline Watson; brother – James Edward Watson; sisters – Barbara Watson Turner and Mary Charlene Watson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 9:00am until 1:30pm at the Scottsboro Funeral Home.
