He was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Bertha, Summers County, a son of Noah Levi Gadd Sr. and wife Beatrice Gore Gadd. He had a twin brother, Russell Bee Gadd.
Robert was a Christian. He was most at peace when he was surrounded by nature and the peaceful quiet of the farm he and his wife, Ennis, built together. In addition to gardening and tending to the many chores of life in the country, one of Robert's favorite pastimes was hunting, where he found contentment amid the woods and wildlife.
During his life, he worked many jobs, but his most treasured titles were of husband, daddy and granddaddy.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, including his twin brother, Russell, who died in 2008.
Survivors left to cherish his memory included Robert's always devoted wife of 61 years, Ennis; three daughters; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; two brothers; four sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews spanning several generations.
Funeral services were conducted at the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road, Princeton, W.Va., with Pastor Jim Stanley of Pettry Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services were conducted at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Courthouse Road.
