Waldo Burnett was born in Southboro, attended St. Mark's School, Harvard and Oxford University. He served as secretary to James Russell Lowell when the author was ambassador to Spain. He was rector of St. Mark's Church in Southborough from 1883 to 1900.
The Rev. Waldo Burnett was the first rector of Holy Trinity Church in Marlboro and was an English chaplain in Italy, Spain and Algiers for many years.
