Myron L. Tripp

SOUTH VALLEY — The Rev. Myron L. Tripp, 91, passed away, Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at his home.

He was born June 12, 1907, in Falls, Pa., the son of Alum and Alma (VanGasbeck) Tripp. On June 4, 1940, in Johnson City Baptist Church, Johnson City he married Andella L. Viele, who survives.


The Rev. Tripp was a graduate of Practical Bible College. He resided in this area for 56 years. He ministered in several churches including Salt Springville Church, East Worcester Church, Methodist Church of Cherry Valley, and in the South Valley Christian Church from 1940-1948 and 1951-1961. He was a member of the South Valley Christian Church.


The Rev. Tripp is survived by his wife of 58 years, Andella L. Tripp of South Valley; two sons, Roger P. Tripp and Nathan T. Tripp; two daughters, Faith S. Hitchcock and Laura H. Black, all of South Valley; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ethel Clark, Doris Stage, Thelma Cary, all of Pennsylvania and Anna Smith of New York.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the First Christian Church, South Valley, with the Rev. Alan Miller, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Tripp will be placed in the Ottman Funeral Home Vault to await a spring burial in the South Valley Cemetery, South Valley.


Calling hours will take place on Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.


In lieu of flowers, contributions in the Rev. Tripp's memory may be made to the First Christian Church, South Valley.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
