Lynford "Bud" G. Farrar

White River Jct., VT – Lynford G. "Bud" Farrar, 88, passed away Friday evening, May 10, at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., VT. He was born October 22, 1924 in St. Albans, VT the son of Lynn and Lucy (Gross) Farrar. Bud graduated from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and then served in the US Navy during World War II. He married Dorothy Armstrong May 29, 1945 in Richford, VT and they lived in Highgate Springs, VT. Bud worked for the Central Vermont Railroad first in St. Albans and then in 1955, moved to White River Jct. to continue with the railroad. In 1961 he started his long career with the US Postal Service retiring in 1986.

Bud was a faithful member and past trustee of the United Methodist Church in White River Jct. He was a life member of the American Legion Post# 26 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post#257 both in White River Jct., Bud was also a member and past Master of the United Brethren Lodge #21 F&AM, and a 32 Degree Mason.

Mrs. Farrar died last year, February 29, 2012.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tatha and Bruce Olson of White River Jct., VT, two grandson, Tye (Tammy) and Jave, five great grandchildren, Rebecca, Justin, Nicholas, Ashley and Dustin, a brother, Wendal Farrar of Vershire, VT as well as two and nephews

Calling hours will be held Saturday evening, May 18, from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, May 19, at 1PM at the United Methodist Church in White River Jct., with Reverends Sandy and Lori VanNorden officiating. Committal services will follow in the Christian Street Cemetery in Wilder, VT. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, 106 Gates Street White River Jct., VT 05001.
