Rev. Leland Wellington Brignall was the son of John Wesley and Hattie (Lawrence) Brignall. He was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference L 1910 Genesee 1920 Located 1934. Later Rev. Brignall was a supply preacher in the Wyoming Conference.

The Rev. Leland W. Brignall, pastor at Allentown, New York, recently underwent a series of successful operations on his throat and nose at Good Shepherd Hospital at Syracuse.

"He was boyish and enthusiastic - his well-remembered insistance upon prefixing "First" to Methodist Episcopal, in referring to the church was not without precedent - it is so deeded in the deed of the premises in 1864 by Anson G. Conger, trustee."
